Actor and Oriental Mindoro Vice Governor Ejay Falcon has finally completed his college education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a major in Local Governance from the University of Makati. The graduation ceremony took place on August 30 at the PICC Plenary Hall in Pasay City.

Reflecting on his journey, Falcon shared in an ABS-CBN News report, “Para sa akin talaga itong course na ito… And I can say na I am very proud na graduate na si Ejay Falcon!” He began his college studies in 2007 at the University of Manila, pursuing Hotel and Restaurant Management with the aim of working abroad. However, financial challenges led him to stop his studies after a few months and return to his home province of Mindoro.

Falcon’s life took a turn when he entered “Pinoy Big Brother,” which opened doors to his acting career and eventually led to his role in public service. The flexible study program offered by the University of Makati, combining online and face-to-face classes, enabled him to finally complete his degree while serving as Vice Governor.

Falcon emphasized the importance of his educational achievement, stating, “May expectations ‘yung aking mga kababayan… Ito ay isang inspirasyon na lahat ay posible.” He expressed his intention to pursue further studies and hinted at future political plans, though he remained non-committal about the specific position.

The University of Makati’s College of Continuing, Advanced, and Professional Studies (CCAPS) supports professionals like Falcon in balancing their careers and academic pursuits, awarding academic credits for learning gained in the workplace. Falcon acknowledged that his academic commitment required some sacrifices in his showbiz career, but he remains focused on his public service responsibilities and future ambitions.

The UAE is bracing for more rain in the upcoming days following a heavy downpour in Al Ain last Friday. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) released footage showing motorists battling against the rainfall in the UAE’s Garden City.

As a safety measure, Abu Dhabi Police temporarily reduced the speed limit on the Dubai to Al Ain Road from 140kph to 120kph. They encouraged drivers to exercise caution due to the weather conditions.

The NCM’s five-day forecast indicates additional rainfall is expected on Saturday afternoon, Sunday, and Monday, particularly in the eastern regions of the Emirates. This prediction comes amid a period of unpredictable weather in the UAE, marked by high temperatures, humidity, and intermittent spells of fog and rain.

Despite the damp conditions, Al Ain registered the country’s highest temperature on Friday, hitting a sweltering 49°C. The weather over the next five days is expected to remain hot in Abu Dhabi with temperatures hovering around mid-40ºC. In contrast, slightly lower temperatures are predicted in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Fujairah offers some relief from the scorching sun. The temperature there is forecasted to reach 36°C from Saturday through Tuesday, with a slight increase to 39°C by Wednesday.
